Frequently Asked Questions

Who was involved in the planning process?

This campaign was created by the Sacred Water Shared Future planning team, which is made up of representatives from Capitol Region Watershed District, Freshwater,
Metropolitan Council Environmental Services, Mississippi Park Connection, Mississippi Watershed Management Organization, National Park Service, and One Mississippi.

What events have been planned by the campaign organizers?

The Sacred Water Shared Future planning team is not planning events. This campaign has been planned by volunteers and all events will be planned and hosted by partner organizations. The name, theme, logo and other campaign assets will support a broad variety of events.

Who can plan and host campaign events?

We welcome any group or organization that feels a passion for the health of our waterways or a connection to the Mississippi River and its watershed to host an event.

What types of events are encouraged?

The types of events are ultimately up to our partners, but we highly encourage river-focused activities that allow for individuals to connect to the water. Submit your event and we’ll review it to ensure it aligns with the campaign’s mission. Once approved, add it to our public Events Calendar for all to see!
