Third Space Thursday: Art in Your Park
Third Space Thursday is a free community gathering in our parks to share food, connect with neighbors, get active, and enjoy the river. Whether you are new to our national park or get outside often, these events are an invitation to step away from the screen and be present in nature. Join us for a series of outdoor activities while learning about Mississippi Park Connection programs and the importance of preserving river access. All activities are free and optional.
Join us July 2nd at North Mississippi Regional Park for the Art in your Park edition of TST with Juxtaposition Arts! Join MPC and JXTA in a 2-D river themed art class. Materials, supplies, and snacks will be provided free for all registered participants, with extras available on a first-come, first-served basis. “Bring your own supplies” is also encouraged. The Sacred Water Shared Future campaign is powered by you! The heart of this centennial celebration is the incredible variety of events planned and hosted by our partners — community groups, nonprofits, businesses, schools, and individuals who feel a connection to the Mississippi River.
We do not host events ourselves; instead, we serve as a central hub for river-focused activities happening across the Twin Cities throughout 2026.
