Mississippi Muse: Mussels & Printmaking
August 18 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

The Mississippi Muse series explores different aspects of the Mississippi River through a scientific and creative lens. In August, it’s all about mussels. Explore different river species, their habitat and their significance in the ecosystem, plus interact with real mussels. Then, get creative with gelli plate printing, making textured prints with mussel shells and other objects found by the river. $20/person.
The Sacred Water Shared Future campaign is powered by you! The heart of this centennial celebration is the incredible variety of events planned and hosted by our partners — community groups, nonprofits, businesses, schools, and individuals who feel a connection to the Mississippi River.
We do not host events ourselves; instead, we serve as a central hub for river-focused activities happening across the Twin Cities throughout 2026.
