Picnic for the Park Annual Fundraiser: An Evening that Soars

Come and see the only national park dedicated to the Mississippi River!
We invite you to join us on Thursday, August 20 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Harriet Island’s Clarence W. Wigington Pavilion for a memorable evening on the Mississippi River featuring sunset views, cuisine from the area’s most exciting chefs, a silent auction, and drinks with friends—all to benefit the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.
This year’s theme, An Evening that Soars, takes inspiration from the birds of the Mississippi River. Guests are encouraged to have fun with the theme and incorporate bird-inspired touches to their resort casual attire.
The Sacred Water Shared Future campaign is powered by you! The heart of this centennial celebration is the incredible variety of events planned and hosted by our partners — community groups, nonprofits, businesses, schools, and individuals who feel a connection to the Mississippi River.
We do not host events ourselves; instead, we serve as a central hub for river-focused activities happening across the Twin Cities throughout 2026.
