Third Space Thursday: Roller Skate in Your Park

Third Space Thursday is a community gathering in our parks to share food, connect with neighbors, get active, and enjoy the river. Whether you are new to our national park or get outside often, these events are an invitation to step away from the screen and be present in nature. Join us for a series of outdoor activities while learning about Mississippi Park Connection programs and the importance of preserving river access. All activities are free and optional.
Joins us June 4, 2026 at Mississippi Gateway Regional Park for Roller Skate in your Park with Twin Cities Skaters (TCS)! Join MPC and TCS in a beginner-friendly roller skating lesson. Skates will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Bringing your own skates is also encouraged.
Meet at Oakview Reservation Shelter Area.

July 2 at North Mississippi Regional Park
July 30 at Boom Island Park
September 3 at Bohemian Flats Park
This is a BIPOC-centered event.
Funding for this project was provided by Hennepin County through the Green Partners environmental education program.
The Sacred Water Shared Future campaign is powered by you! The heart of this centennial celebration is the incredible variety of events planned and hosted by our partners — community groups, nonprofits, businesses, schools, and individuals who feel a connection to the Mississippi River.
We do not host events ourselves; instead, we serve as a central hub for river-focused activities happening across the Twin Cities throughout 2026.
